The National Network for Mental Health (NNMH) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing mental health recovery, peer support, advocacy, education, and community engagement across Canada.
NNMH is a lived experience informed organization that values the leadership, expertise, and contributions of people with lived and living experience of mental health challenges, addictions, disabilities, and recovery. We are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for individuals and communities to share their experiences, influence change, and strengthen mental health and disability supports across Canada.
NNMH is a mission driven organization where staff are encouraged to take initiative, contribute ideas, and help shape the growth of programs and projects. Team members are trusted to manage their responsibilities with professionalism, sound judgment, and independence while working collaboratively to advance the organization's mission.
The Communications and Outreach Coordinator serves as the primary communications and engagement support for ECHOES OF US, NNMH's national storytelling and community engagement initiative.
Working closely with the National Coordinator, the successful candidate will help engage participants and organizations, elevate community voices and lived experience perspectives, coordinate Spotlight Community features, and expand awareness of ECHOES OF US across Canada.
In addition to supporting ECHOES OF US, the Coordinator will help maintain NNMH's social media presence, coordinate the monthly newsletter, update website content, support organizational outreach efforts, and contribute to broader communications and engagement activities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing communications strategies, identifying opportunities for engagement, and helping community voices and experiences reach wider audiences.
We recognize that candidates may not meet every qualification listed above. If you are passionate about our mission and believe your experience, skills, or lived expertise would make you a strong fit for this role, we encourage you to apply.
We're looking for someone who is proactive, organized, and genuinely interested in helping communities share their experiences and perspectives.
The successful candidate is comfortable working independently, identifying opportunities for improvement, and taking ownership of their responsibilities. They understand how to balance day to day communications activities with longer term engagement goals and can contribute ideas that strengthen NNMH's programs, visibility, and community impact.
