About Stardale

Stardale Women’s Group Inc. is a Calgary-based charitable organization serving Indigenous girls, young women and families. Through our work, we support empowerment, personal development, cultural connection and community.

We are seeking a creative, organized and self-motivated Communications Specialist to support Stardale’s communications and marketing activities and help share the stories and impact of our work.

The position is approximately 10 hours per week, with availability to increase hours periodically for special events, presentations and other priority periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support communications and marketing activities that advance Stardale’s mission and vision.
  • Design and coordinate digital assets, marketing collateral, presentations and social media graphics.
  • Manage Stardale’s blog and support social media campaigns and strategies.
  • Support digital marketing activities, including website maintenance.
  • Develop compelling stories and donor communications that demonstrate the impact of Stardale’s work.
  • Assist with marketing administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or Communications, or a fourth-year student in one of these fields.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop), Canva and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience with Squarespace, Vimeo On Demand and other website platforms.
  • Experience with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Mailchimp.
  • Experience with Google Analytics or similar analytics tools.
  • Experience with donor communications, including annual giving, direct mail, cases for giving and impact reporting.
  • Experience across communications and marketing functions, including branding, digital marketing, social media, and public or government relations.
  • Previous experience working or communicating with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-led organizations or Indigenous-serving organizations is considered an asset.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing and social media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, editing and formatting skills.
  • Strong organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is considered an asset.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work in support of Stardale’s mission.
