The Psychological Associate (PA) / MA-Level Psychologist supports and monitors the Bounce Back team, who provides Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) based structured telephone coaching to people living with mild to moderate mood disorders. The PA provides clinical oversight to Bounce Back Coaches, including: (1) reviews risk reports, (2) provides clinical recommendations specific to participant risk assessment, (3) reviews audio recordings when necessary, and (4) holds monthly clinical consultations for the coaches.
The Psychological Associate is responsible to assist with the training of the team, within an existing program fidelity model, and ongoing supervision to ensure quality, fidelity, and assist with the professional development of the team. They will actively contribute to quality improvement of the program, and participate in research activities. Training and support will be provided to the PA by a Ph.D.-Level Clinical Psychologist on the team.
The Psychological Associate will also be responsible for demonstrating a thorough understanding of assessing different levels of risk (low, moderate, high), and is familiar with pertinent provincial legislation that includes: Mental Health Act, Health Consent Act, PHIPA, the Substitute Decisions Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, and Ontario Human Rights Code.
In addition to compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, the incumbent is also expected to behave ethically, demonstrate competence in effective communication and team building, demonstrate effectiveness in working in a collaborative environment, and demonstrate confidence in decision-making and in building relationships.
