EMETemployment

21 hours per week / 1 year contract with possibility of renewal / Starting ASAP / Keele & Finch

 

We’re looking for someone who will:

  • Conduct client intake and needs assessment
  • Provide individual employment counselling/coaching to clients towards employment
  • Assist clients to develop the skills and tools necessary to overcome barriers to employment
  • Working closely with coordinator, match clients with suitable job openings and advocate on the clients’ behalf
  • Provide case management and liaise with other JVS programs’ staff to follow up on clients’ progress
  • Ensure clients have access to the necessary services and supports that will increase their employability
  • Maintain detailed client records; enter all required information into various IT systems; produce statistical reports
  • Conduct outreach to community partners to ensure clients’ referrals
  • Facilitate employment workshops in the office and in the community

Flexible hours / evenings / weekends may be required for this position.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counselling or Social Services with placement experience, or a related degree with 3-5 years of counselling experience. International degrees must be evaluated for Canadian equivalency.
  • Strong counselling and facilitation skills
  • Effective problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to effectively deal with many personality types and familiarity with employment-related issues and adult learning approaches
  • A good understanding of Jewish culture and tradition as well as fluency in Hebrew and/or Russian
  • A clear Police Vulnerable Sector check is required for this position

 

Our ideal candidate will also have:

  • Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling or Social Services with placement experience
