Psychologist / Psychological Associate, Job ID #1001

Career, Education & Psychological Services

1 year part-time contract with possibility of renewal / Starting ASAP / Dufferin & Lawrence

 

We’re looking for someone who will:

  • Conduct and/or supervise psycho-diagnostic/educational assessments (if on a registration path to meet requirements with the College of Psychologists of Ontario) in our clinic and across existing contracts (e.g., York Region District School Board, Ontario Works, Jewish Day Schools)
  • Can provide individual and/or group counselling for a variety of presenting issues such as anxiety and mood disorder
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and provide feedback to referring agencies, schools, individuals assessed (or their guardians) and others
  • Maintain records, clinical notes, files, statistics and program details as necessary

 

Flexible hours / evenings / weekends may be required for this position.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Currently registered or eligible for registration with The College of Psychologists of Ontario (autonomous or supervised practice) with declared areas of competency in school and/or clinical
  • Experience conducting psycho-diagnostic/educational assessments with children, adolescents and/or adults
  • Ability to develop a treatment plan
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
  • Well-developed clinical and team skills
  • You are a committed professional with a strong sense of ethics, values and fairness
  • A clear Police Vulnerable Sector check is required for this position

 

Our ideal candidate will also have:

  • Proven supervisory skills
  • Proven psychotherapeutic skills
  • Experience working in a school
