Pacific Community Resources Society is seeking an experienced, energetic and engaging Program Support Worker to provide administrative support to staff and stakeholders of the WorkBC centre. The Program Support worker will be responsible for basic reception duties, general maintenance of the office area, and provide administrative support to the staff and leaders of the centre. This position requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as pre-screening individuals for eligibility and services is essential, on the phone as well as in person. Since the centre is open to the public, the Program Support worker will be comfortable engaging with diverse people with a variety of needs. The Program Support Worker needs to be flexible and adaptable, able to identify priorities and adapt to changes.
The Program Support worker will require excellent computer skills, be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and working on complex databases. As for ordering and maintaining an inventory of office supplies and financial supports are part of the role, organization and detailed-oriented attributes are essential to this position. Since this position is often the first point of contact with the centre, it is essential that the Program Support Worker be knowledgeable about the services available and be able to provide accurate information to those who inquire.
Academic and Job Experience Required:
Post-Secondary certificate, diploma or degree in administration, customer service or relevant field
Providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues both in person and in a virtual service delivery environment.
Dealing with difficult clients, utilizing de-escalation techniques and strategies both in person and virtually.
MS Office and overall computer proficiency including data administration utilizing complex data bases, specifically the Integrated Case Management (ICM) system.
Demonstrated ability to understand and follow WorkBC policies and the Employment Insurance Act.
An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
Criminal record check including the vulnerable sector.
Excellent computer skills and administrative capability; proficient in MS Office.
