Job Title                             :             Children's Worker


Based at                             :             Bethany Homes, Wetaskiwin

Reports to                          :             Hope Mission Wetaskiwin Programs Manager

Hours of work                    :             Full Time (40 hours per week.  Evenings and Saturday work as required)

Bethany Homes is a healing centre for kids from across Central Alberta. The program uses horses, the greenhouse garden and games to serve, strengthen and uplift kids through the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the core of the program, and our aim is that kids would confess Jesus as Lord and Saviour.


The Children’s worker will combine strong organizational skills and love for children to administrate the ministry of Bethany homes. This person will coordinate with existing Wetaskiwin ministries to bring children to Bethany and organize and execute the program they will experience while there. We have staff member who will deliver a horse program, and a person who will teach in the greenhouse. This position will work with these staff to organize the details of the spring, summer and fall ministries and lead groups of kids while they are on the property.





We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented person who wants to share the love of God with kids.

  • A mix of administrative and communication skills are essential, as well as a love for kids.
  • Experience with children’s ministries (camps, church, etc) would be an asset.
  • Experience with organizing groups, events or programs would also be an asset.



  • Work with Wetaskiwin after-school programs to identify and bring kids to Bethany
    • Promote Bethany ministry among our after-school programs in Wetaskwin
    • Administrate bus pick-ups, waiver forms, all details related to the Bethany Ministry for the spring, summer and fall
  • Administrate the Children’s program at Bethany
    • This position will work as part of a team to plan and execute the spring, summer and fall ministry of Bethany.  Duties include organizing the activities, gathering all required supplies, correspondence with parents and kids
  • Work directly with kids that attend the program
    • This person will work with kids while at Bethany: supervising groups, teaching, and leading children
  • Other duties as required



  • University or College, Bible school/Seminary education or work experience is an asset
  • Ability to Communicate effectively with children and guests.
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Administrative and organizational abilities
  • Ability to exercise authority without intimidation
  • Self-management skills 



  • Being a Christian Organization we require our employees to be in agreement and sign the Hope Mission Statement of Faith  (
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
  • A letter of reference from a ministry or church is required
  • Able to provide Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Adherence Hope Mission’s Policies and Procedures.
