The Events & Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership in the coordination, implementation and evaluation of fund-raising events upholding the integrity and public face of The Mustard Seed Street Church.  Working with staff and Victoria community, the Events & Sponsorship Coordinator is the principal conduit by which all major event planning and related communications are handled.  The candidate should have a love for event management, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional and be able to build and maintain relationships internally and externally to The Mustard Seed Street Church.

  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 ·        Collaborates with the Director of Development to create and implement event specific communication strategies, plans and programs including goals and objectives and the means to achieve them

·        Responsible for soliciting corporate sponsorships of key marketing and events campaigns throughout the year

·        Maintains, organizes and coordinates existing fundraisers and events from concept to completion, ensuring they operate smoothly, efficiently, and generate maximum revenue and exposure on behalf of The Mustard Seed Street Church

·        Provides volunteer coordination, direction and training of volunteers for events.

·        Prepares Media Schedules, budgets and fundraising targets

·        Maintains a calendar of internal as well as third party events, e-newsletter, social media campaigns and other key marketing and events initiatives

·        Responsible to communicate events and other marketing initiatives using electronic and print media including website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, e-newsletter, press releases and other electronic and print communications

·        Responsible for communications and networking in support of The Mustard Seed Street Church including internal information sharing for staff and volunteers

·        Establish and maintain effective relationships with volunteers and colleagues; Being part of a team is essential

·        As a member of the Development Team, additional support in marketing may be required and could include support with the preparation of marketing collateral, direct mails outs, donor and public relations as well as social media

·        Responsible for adhering to The Mustard Seed brand Standards guideline in the production of marketing and public facing promotional material

·        Participating in the Christian ministry of The Mustard Seed Street Church including attendance of chapel, staff meetings and training opportunities in consultation with supervisor

·        Other duties  as required

 Qualifications

·        Preference of post-secondary degree in a related field and two years experience in events planning, preferably in the not-for-profit sector. Significant work experience considered in lieu of the degree

·        Experience in planning and implementing events including expertise in attracting sponsorships; print production expertise associated with fund-raising events.

·        Software proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, CRM, WordPress, Instagram, Tumbler, Facebook, Twitter, Hootsuite, and YouTube

·        Project Management experience as well as the experience in preparation of Media Schedules, budgets and fundraising targets

·        Experience in working with senior managers, donors, volunteers, and coordinating, supervising and orienting people for events

·        Experience in the publishing and production of marketing collateral and promotional material, such as: posters, flyers, brochures and signage

·        Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with volunteers and colleagues

·        Asset: Knowledge of Victoria including local churches, businesses and community groups

Terms of Employment:

·        This position is with The Mustard Seed Street Church and requires a person who has made a Christian commitment.

·        Must be willing to sign the staff code of conduct

·        This position reports to The Director of Development

·        Hours: 37.5 hours per week

·        Must provide an acceptable criminal record check, including the level of clearance required to work with vulnerable people

·        Some weekend and evening work is required
