School is the center of the universe for many children. It’s where they learn, play, eat, make friends, discover role models, develop life-long social skills, and find help if a crisis arises. These essential services cease to exist for vulnerable children when schools close for winter, spring and summer breaks. KidSafe serves more than 450 of Vancouver's most at-risk youth by providing a safe space, developmental care and nutrition to children ages 5-13 when school is not in session.

The Activity Leader provides leadership for children ages 5-13 in KidSafe program and is responsible for delivering all programs for their designated groups, assisting with planning, supervising participants, and supporting site volunteers.

  • Ensure the safety of all participants, staff, and property by following KidSafe standards/policies/procedures
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean environment
  • Attend staff meetings, planning sessions and training events as required

  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
  • High School Graduate
  • Diplomas, certificates or other evidence of completed courses/training, of at least 20 hours duration in child-related study (i.e. child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition) an asset
