Health & Safety and Occasional Teacher/Casual Staffing

 

ASSOCIATION OF BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS (NON-UNION EMPLOYEE GROUP)

GROUP “4” – FULL TIME POSITION

Salary range: $ 61,108 - $ 69,440 (commensurate with experience)

 

Reporting to the Occupational H&S Supervisor and Supervisor of Staffing, and as a member of the Human Resources Team, the incumbent will provide support in the areas of Occupational H&S and occasional staffing for the system.  In the Occupational H&S capacity the emphasis of the work will involve maintaining excellent records, timely and accurate claims reporting and supporting staff and management with regards to WSIB and Occupational Health & Safety matters ensuring the protection of personal information and confidentiality.  The incumbent will also work with the SmartFind Express Officer and the staffing team to ensure temporary staff absence coverage is timely and accurate. The hours of work will be 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

 

Qualifications and Skills required:

 

  • Relevant post-secondary education in the areas of Occupational Health & Safety and/or Human Resources
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a related role
  • Excellent understanding of WSIB and OH&S legislation, regulations and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of Board policies, procedures and protocols
  • Proficient in the use and maintenance of data management software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using Parklane and/or SmartFind Express an asset
  • Proven experience taking comprehensive meeting minutes
  • Demonstrated professional ethic and sensitivity to the confidential nature of the position
  • A strong commitment to service and attention to detail
