Digital Marketing Specialist

contract - part time  •  $25 - $40 per hour depending on experience

Kay Meek Arts Centre is a professional performing arts venue in the heart of West Vancouver next to West Vancouver Secondary School. Every year the Kay Meek presents a season of more than 30 concerts, plays and performances in four distinct series (Resonate, Play, Amplify, and Cabaret) plus a film series and a number of special presentations. Its mandate also includes youth programs and learning opportunities for all ages.


The Kay Meek Arts Centre is seeking a freelance digital marketing specialist to manage integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution in order to build awareness and maximize both attendance and revenue. This part-time contractor will report to the Director of Donor Relations and Audience Development. Some on-site meetings will be required, but it is not necessary for this person to work on-site. 


Responsibilities include:

  • Planning digital marketing campaigns, including website content, search engine marketing, email campaigns, social media engagement, digital display ads, and other promotions
  • Maintaining our online presence across all digital channels
  • Brainstorming new and creative growth strategies
  • Collaborating with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience
  • Tracking, analyzing and reporting on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns
  • Identifying trends and insights, and optimizing spending based on emerging information



  • Proven working experience in digital marketing
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing digital campaigns
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Solid knowledge and experience with various tools and platforms including Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, etc.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement 
  • Degree or diploma in marketing or communications preferred
  • Experience working in the performing arts sector would be an asset
  • Advanced graphic design skills would be an asset
