DIRECTOR

 

Harbourfront Centre, on Toronto's waterfront, is an innovative non-profit cultural organization which creates, for a diverse public, events and activities of excellence that enliven, educate and entertain.   Currently, exciting seasonal employment opportunities exist in Harbourfront Centre Camps, one of Toronto's largest, most diverse and creative day camps.

 

Position: Director

Department: Recreational Learning

Compensation: $600 per week (plus compensation for training)

Number of Vacancies: March Break: 16 

Job Type: Seasonal, Contract

Duration:

  • March Break: March 7-20, 2020 (Training: February 29, March 7 and March 14 / Full-time (March Break): March 16 –March 20, 2020)
    • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30AM–4:30PM / 35hrs per week (Additional duties starting at 7:30AM and going as late at 6:00PM may be assigned).

DUTIES

  • Develop programming that meets programming promise in the camps brochure
  • Plan, administer, co-ordinate, and supervise camp activities
  • Train and supervise staff of 2-12 Counsellors
  • Plan and run camp specific meetings
  • Administrative duties such as daily attendance, evaluations, incident/accident reports, etc.
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Other duties as required

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Essential Criteria

  • At least 19 years of age within the calendar year;
  • Previous camp programming experience;
  • Strong programming, leadership and organizational skills;
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and responsible;
  • Enjoy working with children;
  • Standard First Aid and CPR prior to June 29, 2020 is required;
  • Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to June 29, 2020 is required;

Desirable Criteria

  • Enrolled in or completed a post secondary degree as related to the position
