Looking for an experienced bookkeeper to manage accounts for Obakki and Obakki Foundation (registered charity) who understands GAAP rules. Not For Profit accounting is an asset. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is interested in improving and streamlining the accounting processes.


Reporting to: Founder and/or General Manager

Bookkeeper Responsibilities

  • Full cycle accounting across multiple companies
  • Financial Statement preparation
  • Balancing inter-company transactions
  • Monthly bank, visa, PayPal and petty cash reconciliations
  • Payroll
  • AR entries and collections
  • A/P entries and payments
  • Preparing/filing of all government remittances (PST, GST, WCB, employee source deductions etc.)
  • Preparation and issuing of ROEs, T4s
  • Issue donation receipts
  • Commissions calculations and payments
  • Cash forecasting and analysis
  • Year-end document preparation for external accountants
  • Arrange benefits for employees


Business Support

  • Processing customer sales orders, invoices and payments.
  • Shipping - process shipping documents and communicating with customs brokers for imports and exports, packing
  • Customer service - in person, via phone, and email
  • Assisting with inventory control
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to management and other staff
  • Office admin tasks, including ordering supplies, filing, etc. as required
  • General business support tasks as needed


  • A college program in accounting/bookkeeping
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, Simply Accounting or similar accounting programs
  • 2 to 3 years MINIMUM experience in accounting/bookkeeping in a commercial environment
  • Proficiency in the full suite of MS Office programs
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize workloads
