Looking for work? Get paid to learn! Game Changer Program is an 8-week, full-time employment training that is designed to develop your skills and competencies to plan your career path and connect to meaningful employment opportunities. During training, you will learn essential, soft and job search skills, and explore your career interests through interactions with potential employers. The program is funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada-British Columbia Workforce Development Agreement.

 

Eligible Participant

  • Immigrant Young Adult ages 18-24 residing in British Columbia – we are open to discussing options outside of the stated age range
  • Permanent Resident, Naturalized Citizen, or Protected Person legally entitled to work in Canada
  • is not attending school full-time

 

What does the Game Changer program offer?

  • Full-time Paid Employment Training ($12.65/hour)
  • Financial Support for Transportation and child care
  • Short-term Occupational Certificates (FoodSafe, First Aid, WHMIS, etc.)
  • Individualized Occupational Skills Training
  • Mentorship
  • Paid Work experience upon completion of in-class training
  • Employment Counselling & Support
  • Post Job Placement Support and more

 

Tentative Training Dates (Subject to change)

  • Feb 10 – Apr 3, 2020
  • May 4 – Jun 26, 2020
  • Jul 6 – Aug 28, 2020
  • Sep 28 – Nov 20, 2020
