Director of Child Care Services

 

As part of the Child Care Team, you are responsible for all aspects of the Child Care Program. You will provide leadership in the delivery of all programs and services offered in their assigned location. You have the opportunity to create a desirable environment at the YMCA through their personal responsibility of representing the YMCA as a charity and with their contribution to the Strong Kids Campaign. Through its accountability for the program delivery, you will utilize your skills in ensuring that the members and participants of the YMCA are being treated well and the programs are able to deliver to their needs.

  • Oversee service delivery by working with a team to carry out the curriculum by following YMCA policy and procedures; providing appropriate activities and aware of individual child’s development to create and sustain growth for children
  • Provides coaching and relationship development (communication with family and children) by ensuring confidentiality, professionalism policies are being followed, and respect is shown to parties 
  • Carry out administration duties such as P2L documentation, journals, and program planning to ensure documentation is correct and recorded for others 
  • Follows association goals and strategic planning by demonstrating personal responsibility for the YMCA charity and contribution to the Strong Kids campaign to encourage support and participation, as well as creating a desired environment for the YMCA 
  • Assign and schedule the work of others.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and feedback to others.
  • Conduct formal performance reviews and coaching
  • Modifies existing processes by correcting problems, resolving issues and updating existing work methods

 What You’ll Need for This Job

  • 1-2 years of leadership experience
  • Child Worker CertificateLevel 3
  • CPR and First Aid
  • Specialized knowledge in working with children 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of required policies and protocols and ensures their implementation
