The North Shore Disability Resource Centre (NSDRC) provides programs and services for people with disabilities. We believe that everyone should be able to participate as active members of their community - communities that value inclusion are committed to creating opportunities for all.
The Community Based Services department is currently seeking a qualified/experienced Community Support Worker to support individuals with a disability with social, recreational, and communication goals. The Worker would help the individual with accessing the community, furthering their communication and social skills, connecting with peers, developing athletic skills, and developing vocational skills, all while promoting choices and independence.
The successful candidate would be outgoing, energetic, creative, and have a good understanding of how to set clear boundaries and adhere to behaviour plans.
Criminal Record Search
Current First Aid (level B or higher)
Negative TB Test or clear chest x-ray
Medical doctors note of good health
High School certificate or equivalent & 1 year previous experience providing support. OR A relevant combination of education and/or experience, combined with general suitability.
