The BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS’ Downtown Eastside Research and Innovation Centre is a unique and innovative health clinic comprised of a multidisciplinary clinical team focused on providing primary and specialty care for patients/clients in the Downtown Eastside. The high-quality care provided by the clinical team focuses on HIV/AIDS, HCV and other infectious diseases and is supported and enhanced by ongoing research, innovation and wellness promotion.
Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager and working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing nursing care to an assigned group of patients/clients according to established policies and procedures and the Standards of Practice for the Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia. Duties include participating in care conferences and in developing care plans, conducting assessments, implementing and evaluating interventions, documenting information, and acting as an advocate for patients/residents.
Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. One year recent, related experience working in an Urban Health setting including experience with addiction, HIV/AIDS or Indigenous patient populations or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Registration with the BC College of Nursing Professionals as a practicing LPN registrant. Current basic cardiac life support certification.

STATUS/HOURS: The hours of work at the clinic will begin on a Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm basis and grow into an extended hour, 7 day a week operation. We can offer various shift rotation opportunities including full-time and part-time work. This is a Research and Innovation Clinic and therefore we will measure the operation prior to changing the hours.
START DATE: As soon as possible
LOCATION: 625 Powell Street, BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, Vancouver, BC, and various other local BC-CfE locations as required.
