Location / Lieu: Responsible for traveling between locations in Toronto and GTA including York, Simcoe, Durhamand various other locations throughout the province

 
Position / Poste: RECREATION & INTEGRATION SUPPORT WORKER (1 Position)
 
Duties / Fonctions: 
  • Deliver recreation and leisure programs for adults with physical disabilities including; designing programs, arranging logistics, preparing & monitoring budget, overseeing program evaluations. 
  • Develop integrated recreational opportunities in the community by working with external organizations to expand recreation /leisure opportunities for people with disabilities
  • Develop and research new service initiatives. Work with external groups and other March of Dimes Canada staff to identify new service development needs
  • Assist with budget preparation, identify & seek grants, funding, and manage fee collection
  • Assist or provide attendant care to program participants such as toileting, feeding, and dressing
Qualifications / Compétences requises: 
  • Post-secondary education and/or relevant experience in Recreation and Leisure programing
  • 2-4 years experience in a Recreation program/department with responsibility for program development, implementation, evaluation and management 
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Experience providing personal attendant care to adults with physical disabilities
  • Demonstrated planning, facilitating, and leadership skills
  • Budget and financial management experience
  • Experience and comfort using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of disability, health & safety
  • Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and flexibility
  • Valid driver’s licence, access to a reliable means of transportation and able to travel throughout the assigned region
  • Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours which includes evening and weekend shifts
