Advisor, People + Culture– Gastown, Vancouver – Full Time, Permanent

We are looking for a new team member to join our People + Culture (P+C) team who will provide support for a wide range of human resource functions for 150+ employees across Canada. The Advisor will be the first point of contact for all P+C activities and will act as a key enabler of our culture, purpose and values. You will have a proactive focus on support and employee experience and a commitment to excellence. You take pride in what you do, and no task is too big or too small. You bring strong administrative skills to the team and keep things running smoothly in the department. You are someone who pays attention to the details and are always a few steps ahead of others in planning and organizing. 

 

The P+C Advisor reports to the Manager, People + Culture and is highly collaborative with the Payroll Specialist, and other peer Finance and Shared Platform teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with the P+C team to ensure the department is providing an excellent employee experience
  • Oversee and provide all administrative support for the P+C department including responding to queries and requests, prepare new hire documents, change letters, verification letters, enter and ensure that our systems reflect accurate and up-to-date information, assign training modules etc.
  • Provide timely first line support to employee and manager inquiries on various P+C related topics including assisting to interpret defined P+C policies and procedures
  • Responsible for day-to-day payroll and benefits administration, acting as the back-up to payroll to provide coverage when required
  • Provide support to the recruitment and onboarding processes as needed to provide the best introduction to our team and organization
  • Support P+C team with ongoing delivery of diverse and exciting P+C programs and initiatives

 

Who You Are:

  • A collaborative team player - You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration
  • Reliable – You are able to follow through issues to resolution with meticulous attention to detail and know when to escalate issues
  • A great communicator: You naturally orient towards customer service and can translate complex information into clear and simple language. You are helpful and friendly on the phone, and your emails are clear and informative
  • You are extremely organized, with an ability to anticipate, plan and deliver exceptional support
  • You are able to manage a high volume of requests in a timely manner and remain flexible to changing priorities

 

Experience You Bring:

  • 3+ years’ generalist experience
  • A degree or diploma in HR and a CHPR designation
  • Strong understanding of relevant provincial laws and regulations

 

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Experience processing Payroll
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce
  • Non-profit experience with a mid-size not for profit/Charitable organization
  • Experience supporting human resources for a national organization
