The BC SPCA is currently seeking a professional, compassionate & knowledgeable individual to fill the full-time position of Practice Manager for the Penticton Veterinary Hospital (PVH), a small multiple vet, full service hospital with a support staff that includes RVTs, receptionists, & veterinary assistants.

 

This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the veterinary hospital & over sees operations at PVH.  In this important role, you will ensure that the daily operations run smoothly, allowing the veterinarians to focus solely on practicing medicine.  You will act as an information resource & ambassador to clients, the general public & staff. In this leadership role, you will set the example for all staff to follow.  You will also be responsible for recruiting in accordance with HR policies, staff scheduling, payroll, new employee orientations, training & performance reviews.

 

You will also oversee inventory & building maintenance & maintain the integrity of the medical records. You have good reporting & observational skills to report on the status of the hospital operations & staff.

 

We are looking for a dynamic individual with the ability to forward think, to assist the veterinarians in improving productivity for all team members. As the ideal candidate for this role, you are a self-motivated individual who will assist with our continual growth into a cohesive team & have the natural ability to motivate others. You have excellent interpersonal skills, tact & discretion in dealing with a wide variety of people & personalities, as well as an ability to deal with emotionally charged situations in a calm, professional manner.

 

You have prior experience with Cornerstone veterinary software as we are a digital practice, maintaining the software as well as troubleshooting will be part of your day-to-day requirements.

 

You will use your strong management skills to lead a team of dedicated staff & foster a positive work environment. You will be responsible for the implementation & monitoring of programs to improve client service, patient care & profitability.  You will have a hands-on approach & always believe in the highest standards of care & welfare for animals.
