Job Description:

We are seeking a creative, dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as the Marketing/Social Media Trainee. If you are passionate about media arts, then this job is for you. Our staff are dedicated to seeing BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) Canadians succeed! We work hard and go the extra mile to help our filmmakers and content creators. Marketing/Social Media Duties:

  • To work with staff to execute social media posts.
  • To create some graphics work
  • To update content in our wix.com website
  • To collect information from our sponsors in regard to their marketing materials.
  • To help with the execution of events
  • To work with our publicist to promote the festivals and year-round events
  • To research additional In-kind Sponsors
  • To help prepare our monthly newsletters
  • Provide Admin support
  • Help with setup at events
  • Create project schedules with the help of Director of Development.
  • Help our customers with their questions and requests.

 

Requirements:

  • The candidate MUST identify as from a First Nation, Métis or Inuit background.
  • Experience in Marketing, Publicity, Social Media and/or Project Management
  • Experience in simple video editing and photoshop and asset.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to create persuasive copy and pitch material
  • Expert project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - can work successfully with various organizational levels
  • Strong sense of design, experience in light graphic creation, video editing, social media and standard Office applications
  • Interest in film, screen-based media.
