CHO Housing Administrator – Community Homes for Opportunity Program

Location: In accordance with current public health directives, training will be available both remotely (i.e., via teleconference and videoconferencing technologies) as well as onsite while respecting physical distancing. During the current COVID-19 outbreak, work can be completed primarily from home with equipment provided by CMHA. Once public health directives are lifted, the Community Homes for Opportunity Housing Administrator will be working primarily in our Newmarket Office (1101 Nicholson Street, Newmarket ON L3Y 9C3) and will be required to travel within York Region & South Simcoe.
The Community Homes for Opportunity Housing Administrator works within the community in residential congregate living environments and collaborates with clients and home operators to ensure that tenants are provided with the resources that they need, help them have the best experience possible in their housing, and build on financial management skills and budgeting. They will work in partnership with the Community Homes for Opportunity team to help to facilitate resident access to resources and supports to maximize their independence and potential, and promote their recovery.
The Community Homes for Opportunity Housing Administrator participates in individual and systemic advocacy initiatives to improve resource access and availability, intake and assessment of new tenants, and oversight of home compliance to regulations as outlined in the program plan. The Community Homes for Opportunity Housing Administrator may be assigned other duties as required and will work very closely with the CHO Housing Workers and Home Operators. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team.
In addition to compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, the incumbent is also expected to behave ethically, demonstrate competence in effective communication and team building, demonstrate effectiveness in working in a collaborative environment, and demonstrate confidence in decision-making and in building relationships.
The Case Manager may be assigned to different programs as required based on need (i.e.: ACTT, Case Management, etc…)
