ABOUT CHILD DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE

Child Development Institute (CDI) is a leading children’s mental health agency in the City of Toronto offering a range of services to approximately 3,500 children ages 0‐12, youth ages 13-18 and their families each year. Our mission is to promote and support the healthy development of children and to strengthen the families and communities in which they live. We provide four streams of service to families in need: early intervention, family violence, healthy child development and specialized mental health services for children and youth with learning disabilities.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Child Development Institute (CDI) is seeking a Receptionist, to join the SNAP East Clinical team on a casual basis.  The successful candidate should possess a welcoming personality, approachable, courteous, pleasant and committed to making every interaction a positive one.  Under the direction of the Manager, Facilities and Administration, the role of Receptionist will be responsible for running the main reception desk ensuring that the needs of clients, volunteers, students and/or staff are met in the most efficient, helpful and customer-friendly manner.   

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greets clients, volunteers and staff in a friendly and warmly manner
  • Administer clinical files by filing incoming documents, scanning and retrieving documents
  • Directs clients, volunteers and staff appropriately
  • Responds to inquiries regarding the program or redirects to appropriate team member
  • Ensures that all incoming clients, volunteers and staff use the Sign-In Register
  • Prepares information program packages as requested by Clinical Supervisor
  • Photocopies as required
  • Adheres to agency policies, procedures and practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Strong customer service capability with experience in developing and maintaining positive relations with internal and external contacts
  • Experience of working within a trauma informed perspective
  • Effective communication skills are necessary to deal with clients, volunteers, students, staff and/or management
  • Must have the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a respectful and aware manner with groups from diverse background and experiences 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Required to work on the following days:

Monday and Tuesday 12pm-5pm

Wednesday and Thursday 9am-2pm
