Our Operations Branch, whose job it is to develop and deliver social housing programs across the province, oversees comprehensive property management services for 7,800 public housing units, and provides financial and management consulting to non-profit and co-op housing providers responsible for another 33,400 units. This includes the administration of Provincial Rental Housing Corporation group homes on behalf of sponsoring ministries. The Branch works with non-profit societies and co-operatives, government, community agencies, tenants and advocacy groups to ensure BC Housing delivers high-quality services and programs that are responsive to client needs.
Leveraging your extensive experience in residential property management for vulnerable populations, you’ll play a key and meaningful leadership role as Director of Orange Hall, which provides newly renovated and self-contained residential units for those at risk of homelessness and those with disabilities who struggle to make ends meet due to limited access to resources. Along with safe, secure and affordable accommodation, Orange Hall provides support services aimed at enhancing access to other community-based support and services, and helping tenants manage their home, build self-reliance and foster resilience against homelessness.
Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, and calling upon your financial acumen and negotiation skills, you’ll oversee the ongoing monitoring of Operating Agreements with BC Housing’s Non-Profit Service Providers, including the budget, subsidy and financial review processes. This is an exciting opportunity to exercise your expertise in budgeting, financial reporting and property management as well as in housing program issues related to the population served by Non-Profits throughout the Vancouver Downtown East Side.
With a university degree in commerce, business administration, public administration, finance or accounting, and a track record of experience in the following areas, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer, you have a solid foundation for success as Director, Orange Hall:
