HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION WORKER
Permanent Full Time (35 hours per week)
Monday to Friday - 9am until 5pm
(Hours may vary based on program needs)
Skills, abilities and competencies that are considered assets in this position:
Post-secondary education in social services or related field, or a combination of education and experience.
First Aid Certificate required.
Demonstrated experience working with people with complex needs, which could include mental illness and addictions.
Demonstrated experience and competency working at the street level with marginalized people.
Exhibit high degree of empathy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry
Excellent knowledge of community resources.
Knowledge and experience in de-escalation (non-violent crisis intervention training).
Must be sensitive to and respectful of cultural and lifestyle diversity.
Ability to identify sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.
Unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
