The Learning and Safety Coordinator is responsible for the research, development, coordination and tracking of the agency’s Staff Learning and Development Program. In addition, this role provides leadership and training to the Occupational Health and Safety program.
Reporting to, and working closely with, the Manager of Human Resources, the primary responsibility for this position will be to develop a Staff Learning and Development Program for the agency that meets funder and regulatory body requirements. This position will work closely with leaders and subject matter experts to gather information necessary to develop various training materials from e-learning to classroom training. With support from the Manager of Human Resources, the secondary responsibility is to ensure Joint Health and Safety Committees are complaints with expectations under WorksafeBC.
The Learning and Safety Coordinator has strong people and organization skills. They have the confidence to be able to work autonomously, but also know when to ask for help. This role will need to understand the full scope of the agency and provide leadership in training development, working collaboratively with agency leadership staff. This position may backfill other HR duties as required.
