Intern Counselling Program

Clinical Counsellor – Intern Supervision

Wage:  $35 per hour

Part Time: 21 hr/wk.

Temporary - until May 2021 with potential for permanent (dependent on funding)

JOB SUMMARY

 

This position will entail coordination and supervision of Masters’ level Counselling Interns with Archway and affiliated post secondary institutions.  The program provides Intern Counsellors with the opportunity to engage in short term in-person and virtual counselling with adult Archway clients. The role of the Intern Coordinator is to monitor, assess and provide clinical supervision to interns.

 

Responsibilities

  • Weekly individual supervision of interns, including support, live/recorded sessional feedback, and assessment of skills.
  • Oversee orientation of Interns – including all Archway policies and protocols.
  • Intake and maintain client waitlist.
  • Ongoing connection with referring programs within Archway Community Services.
  • Liaison with post-secondary Counselling programs.
  • Support students in meeting academic requirement – as outlined by their institutions.
  • Participate in Abuse Counselling staff meetings.
  • Represent Archway Community Services at relevant community events.
  • Attend ongoing clinical supervision with Abuse Counselling Clinical Supervisor.
  • Online tracking and documentation.

Requirements and Qualifications

 

Education and Certification:

  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check.
  • Certified/Registered with either BCACC or CCPA.
  • Master’s Degree in counselling, preference given to applicants who have completed Clinical Supervision Training.
  • High proficiency in computer literacy.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years (Full Time Equivalent) of Individual Counselling with Adults.
  • Preference given to candidates who have provided clinical supervision to student interns.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to work with vulnerable populations
  • Assessment skills regarding risk assessment and safety planning
