Employment Engagement Coordinator

 

Mission Possible is a non-profit organization and social enterprise located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. We support individuals challenged by homelessness, poverty, addiction, mental illness, and other barriers to employment to achieve a renewed sense of dignity and purpose through meaningful work. Through our employment readiness program, and our social enterprises, MP Maintenance & MP Neighbours, we equip our program participants with the skills, confidence, and support they need to rejoin the workforce and rebuild a self-sustainable livelihood for themselves. 


We are searching for an Employment Engagement Coordinator who will work with the Employment Program Manager to help realize new opportunities for participants and graduates of the Employment Readiness Program. The Employment Engagement Coordinator (EEC) will be engaging partners and potential partners who may not currently understand the opportunities and social impact their participation with hiring Mission Possible associates affords them. Keeping ongoing relationships and new opportunities to apply for will be this position's primary role.

The Employment Engagement Coordinator will:

  • Work through any and all business sectors that show relevant and achievable job opportunities for those within the Employment Readiness Program.
  • Foster relationships with employers that build trust and dependability for future candidates who may apply with them.
  • Ensure the coordination of opportunities is being made known to participants in the Employment Readiness program.
  • Ensure the coordination of partnership development with specific outcomes to employment opportunities.

  • Excellent oral communications skills and superior organizational skills 
  • Ability to multitask and balance a varied workload
  • A professional and outgoing manner and ability to interact respectfully with a wide variety of people
  • Promote the Mission Possible Employment Readiness Program to those who might be ready for work
  • The ability to see the potential of a partnership with a company or organization and present the possibilities of that idea.
  • The ability to work within a team environment but also to work independently.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite

Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience working in customer relations is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a for-profit environment is an asset
