Position Overview:

The Web Specialist will be responsible for updating, maintaining, and monitoring content on Caledon Community Services’ various websites to reflect the most recent information on Covid-19 protocols and access to service. Responsible for optimizing and improving website performance and effectiveness, the incumbent will use a strong knowledge of content management platforms and software, programming languages, and design platforms to make necessary changes to website content, perform day to day maintenance, and ensure all digital platforms are user-friendly and contain accurate, up to date information.


Summary of Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Director, Communications and Marketing, the Web Specialist will:

  • Use content management software to edit and update content and graphics on all CCS websites;
  • Create and implement a site content plan that will clearly communicate changes in CCS protocols and access to service in response to COVID-19;
  • Monitor and maintain all sites to ensure changes made still effectively communicate the CCS brand and recommend and implement enhancements to improve user experience;
  • Work with CMS and website design platforms and programming languages to support User Experience (UX), digital business and advertising goals;
  • Provide SEO- driven content and recommend and enact changes to improve performance;
  • Collaborate with CCS departments on content development and data collection;
  • Monitor web analytics and site performance, and make recommendations for improvements and modifications where necessary.


Summary of Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in Computer Science, Digital Marketing, Web Development, Communications, Graphic Design or a related field or equivalent combination of education, including digital certifications, and proven experience;
  • 2+ years of experience in website development and maintenance;
  • Experienced in website design and management;
  • Skilled in HTML/CSS, basic coding, embedding;
  • Experienced with content management systems such as WordPress, CRAFT, SquareSpace, Radiant, and akaRaisin;
  • Solid understanding of domain registration, maintenance and upkeep;
  • Proficient in SEO optimization, digital marketing, and building landing pages;
  • Experienced with Adobe Creative Suite and project management are strong assets;
  • Creative, hands-on, and technical knowledge of web development and experience with web content management platforms, controls and processes;
  • Familiarity with applied Themes and plug-ins;
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards, mobile first;
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong attention to detail & superior proofreading skills;
  • Ability to multitask and manage tight deadlines;
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and within a collaborative team environment;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Computer proficiency in applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook;
  • Use of social media platforms;
  • Clean Criminal Reference Check.
