Our client, MENTOR Canada, the Canadian Mentoring Partnership, is a coalition of organizations that provide youth mentoring. Their work is focused in four areas: research, technology, public education, and development of regional networks. Through a collective impact framework, they convene, lead and participate in gathering, connecting and mobilizing people, knowledge and other resources for collective action and change toward increasing and expanding access to quality mentoring to help every young person fulfill their potential.


MENTOR Canada is seeking a qualified and dynamic Bilingual Regional Partnership & Network Manager, Central and Eastern Canada to effectively engage stakeholders in supporting existing and establishing new regional and local mentoring networks and partnerships within Central and Eastern Canada.


The Bilingual Regional Partnership & Network Manager, Central and Eastern Canada, will be responsible for the effective engagement of network partners, stakeholders and service providers in support of MENTOR Canada’s regional partnership engagement goals, and will lead the development of meaningful connections, networks and resources for these stakeholders.  The position will support the expansion of MENTOR Canada’s Partnership Network as it grows into new regions and communities across the country.


Role Definition:


Using a collective impact approach this key position will:

  1. convene and engage local stakeholders, government, private sector and service providers from Ontario to Atlantic Provinces;
  2. foster collaboration and partnership amongst mentoring service providers, local/regional government, the private sector and invested stakeholders;
  3. build momentum through local and regional partnerships and dialogue centered on the unique context of each community or region, ultimately supporting the advancement of MENTOR Canada by engaging more youth and adults in formal and informal quality mentoring relationship opportunities.


The incumbent will have the unique opportunity to leverage the leadership and partnership engagement of MENTOR Canada’s Founding Partners at the Ontario Mentoring Coalition (OMC).




New Regional Partnerships & Network Facilitation

  • Develop local and regional project plans, monitor and track new regional partnership development;
  • Engage community partners in advancing the importance of mentoring through data collection and impact summaries;
  • Coordinate logistics for new regional partnerships and network development including managing timelines, schedules, convening local events with service providers, and various key stakeholder groups at the local level;
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is prepared and executed for various regional developmental phases;
  • Build, update and maintain clear documentation of progress, obstacles, and lessons learned to incorporate into future regional development plans as well as MENTOR Canada’s developmental evaluation;
  • Facilitate collaboration with MENTOR Canada and amongst stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of regional networks and increasing mentoring opportunities within the region;
  • Identify and foster stakeholder engagement and positive working relationships with service providers, stakeholders, and partners. Strategize new ways of engaging with individuals, organizations and prospects;
  • Identify networks of stakeholders and partners that can both benefit from and contribute to the collective effort to increase quality mentoring programs in Canada;
  • Facilitate MENTOR Canada’s signature stakeholder events fostering community engagement and momentum building for mentoring in local regions;
  • Participate in environmental scans and needs assessments with stakeholders to identify issues and problems, readiness for change, and common goals and solutions.

Online Community and Learning Management System Implementation

  • Work cross-departmentally, to curate and update resources, ensuring that all content (templates, FAQs, articles, etc.) are vetted, regionally relevant, and of high quality;
  • Create and update regional partner profiles, community engagement opportunities, and manage general user experience within the Mentor Connector;
  • Respond to user-generated posts and elevate content expertise to increase local and regional engagement;
  • Train regional partner staff on how to utilize the online community, and help troubleshoot;
  • Further advance resource and tool development, particularly highlighting youth who are marginalized and face barriers to success and expanding quality mentoring opportunities for them across the country;
  • Provide regular monitoring and reporting of data to improve effectiveness and efficiency of use and develop of new engagement strategies;
  • Work with the Director of Partnership Networks and the MENTOR Canada team regarding the development and dissemination of content via the Learning Management System (Knowledge Hub);
  • Track and support the progress of partners as they utilize MENTOR Canada resources and Knowledge Hub;
  • Work closely with MENTOR Canada colleagues to identify service providers, partners, and stakeholders across Canada, and ensure they have access to MENTOR Canada products and services for quality mentoring.


  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. community development, social sciences, project management)
  • Proven project management skills
  • Innovative and flexible thinking and ability to see projects through from conception to final implementation
  • Experience working in a national network with affiliates or similar model is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with diverse stakeholders across multiple disciplines; direct experience working with social services and community organizations is preferred
  • Experience facilitating multi-stakeholder groups and events (virtual and in-person modalities)
  • Ability to develop understanding of system-wide issues (i.e., a “systems thinker”)
  • Strong analytical skills; process and results-oriented
  • Strong organizational skills; experience multitasking and managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines
