Title:             Events Coordinator

Status:          Full-time; 6-month contract, with possibility of extension based on program needs

Location:      Anywhere in Canada



The Events Coordinator will assist in all aspects of event promotion, organization, execution and marketing. The Events Coordinator will play a critical role supporting the organization of SHARE’s first virtual investor summit taking place in February 2021 as well as smaller virtual gatherings related to special projects.



  • Serve as the central coordinator for all SHARE events ranging from 3 to 300+ attendees
  • Help source and implement the technological aspects of all SHARE events
  • Create content for, edit and coordinate event websites and other on-line collateral
  • Provide support to SHARE staff in identifying and recommending appropriate platforms and features for different types of events including meetings, webinars, pre-recorded interviews, breakout rooms, polls etc.
  • Communicate with event stakeholders including partners, sponsors, vendors, donors, organizing committees and service providers
  • Develop, track and report on event plans to SHARE team and partners
  • Help create and carry-out marketing campaigns for SHARE events and courses
  • Help meet event registration and sponsorship targets
  • Help create and execute program evaluations to measure event success
  • Act as the event support person and provide technological support for virtual events and webinars
  • Research and stay up to date on the latest trends and tools for virtual event planning


  • Post-secondary education in event management, communications, IT, marketing or a related discipline, or a combination of education and work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in an event coordination role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, detailed oriented, with excellent time management skills
  • Experience in and/or preference for working in a small office and/or non-profit environment
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a professional, friendly disposition who utilizes discretion and diplomacy
  • Enthusiastic team player with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Professional
  • Experience using virtual event platforms such as Zoom, Pathable and other virtual conference platforms
  • Familiarity with Wordpress, Zoho, Salesforce and social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and Twitter

The position is covered by a collective agreement, has an annual salary of $49,381.01 and offers vacation allowance.

During the pandemic, all SHARE staff are working remotely. SHARE continues to follow public health advice to work remotely whenever possible. Return to work plans will be made in accordance with public health guidelines.
