Women’s Support Worker, Yew Transition House
Casual, on-call hours to support 24 hours 7 days per week operation
$22.68 per hour, BCGEU – This position requires union membership.
Yew Transition House is part of a grass roots movement that has been on the front line providing shelter, support, advocacy and referrals to women and children subjected to violence and abuse. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of experienced, compassionate staff to support and make a difference in the lives of women and children in our community.
What does it take to be a Women’s Support Worker? You are passionate about supporting women of all ages and backgrounds, have a feminist background, and have experience working with women and children who have experienced trauma. Knowledge of community resources and / or post-secondary education in women’s studies or a related field is considered an asset. A valid BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required for this position.
