Hearing Instrument Specialist | Kingston | COMPETITION # 2020-041

Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for a Hearing Instrument Specialist, based in Kingston, to join our provincial network of hearing health professionals. Reporting to the Director of Hearing Healthcare, the Hearing Instrument Specialist is responsible for assessing hearing plus recommending and dispensing hearing aids and other amplification accessories and devices to clients.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working Monday – Friday (7 hours/day), on the basis of 35 hours/week.

The ideal candidate must have an advanced diploma from a Hearing Instrument Specialist college program, is a member of the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners of Ontario (AHIP) in good standing, and is an authorizer with the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) of Ontario. You can also handle a busy clinical environment with the ability to manage a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines.

Since you will also provide education and counseling services for people experiencing hearing loss, you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet and electronic clinical management, and NOAH software.
