Renascent is comprised of Renascent Fellowship (Treatment Organization) and Renascent Foundation.  Renascent is an accredited leader in the addiction treatment field, with a legacy of serving people impacted by substance addiction for 50 years.  As a not-for-profit health care organization, Renascent is committed to the values of compassion, respect, and empathy, as well as evidenced-based approaches and continuous improvement.  Renascent addiction treatment programs provide person-centred care within an abstinence-based model, integrating current best practice clinical approaches with 12-step facilitation.  Due to the impact of addiction on families, specialized programs and support are also offered for family members, including children.  In addition to providing treatment, Renascent actively engages communities through the Renascent Foundation to raise awareness, funds and resources for the treatment and prevention of addiction. 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

As Director of Finance and Administration, you will be a member of Renascent’s senior leadership team, providing senior oversight to the organization’s finance and administration areas.  Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Finance and Administration will actively participate in strategic/operational planning, ensuring strong financial management.  You will oversee the Finance and Administration team responsible for accounting systems and payroll operations.  You will lead and oversee investment and asset management, cost and fund analysis and management, financial systems, financial statements and reporting.  As the Director of Finance and Administration, you will provide senior advice to the CEO and Board regarding financial matters. 

 

Specific Responsibilities include:

  •  Working with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Senior Leadership Team, in developing the strategic plan and annual plans, budgets and ongoing management.
  • Ensuring sound system of financial and operational controls are in place to safeguard the organization’s assets and meet all privacy and other legislative requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining best practice finance and accounting, fund management, procurement and administrative policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all legislative and industry requirements.
  • Leading and overseeing all Ministry of Health and other funder communications and reporting requirements.
  • Leading the preparation of financial statements and managing the audit process.
  • Overseeing the Finance and Administration team who perform the daily functions of payroll and accounting.
  • Providing financial and operational reports for management, the Board, the Ministry of Health, LHIN and other funders.
  • Conducting cost analysis as required to ensure understanding of operational costs and opportunities.

 

Qualifications:

  •  Strong strategic leadership, people leadership, communication, proactive approach and working collaboratively with teams.
  • Excellent financial and business analysis abilities, with demonstrated cost analysis capabilities.
  • CPA designation.
  • Seven or more years of management experience within finance and accounting functions
  • Experience in the not-for-profit and health care sectors an asset.
