CARE Canada is looking for a Human Resources and Surge Specialist for a 6-7 week contract
ABOUT THE ROLE / WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
The Human Resources and Surge Specialist will be part of the Human Resources team. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, the Human Resources and Surge Specialist provides dedicated HR support to CARE Canada’s Rapid Response Team and HR support to other client groups as needed.
WHAT YOU OFFER / ABOUT YOU
Degree or in progress human resources management course work and/or experience
1-3 years experience in an HR role supporting a client group, with demonstrated knowledge and understanding in the management of all aspects of HR function.
Working knowledge of benefits and payroll
Experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including recruitment, compensation practices, organizational analysis, diversity, performance management, and Ontario employment laws.
Results oriented and able to build trusted relationships
Strong working knowledge of current provincial Employment Standards legislation, Human Rights Legislation and employment regulations.
Well versed in human analytics and using numbers to tell a story.
Superior verbal and written English communication skills.
MS Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
Promote and maintain an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, and fosters trust and safety.
Create an environment within CARE's workplaces, programming, and communities where CARE works that is free from sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation and child abuse (SHEA-CA).
Ensure high standards of prevention and response measures for SHEA-CA are in place consistent with the CARE International (CI) Safeguarding Policy and Safeguarding Code of Conduct.
WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARY
Previous experience working in an international NGO including work in development contexts
Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act
Previous experience working with international clients
Experience using a Human Resources Information System
Experience using a Recruitment Management System
