WJS Canada is currently looking for an individual to join the Mains team in Nanaimo, as a Permanent, Full-Time Residence Worker.

Job Reference – #J1020-0525

The Program:

Main’s Program is designed to accommodate youth that have experienced a history of failure in other programs and group homes in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Our services support youth recovering from adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and overcoming other adversity by providing them with housing and trauma-based guidance.

We accommodate and support traumatized youth in comfortable and welcoming facilities with twenty four hour staffing. Paired housemates share common areas but each child has his or her own bedroom. We offer a safe environment in a residential and friendly neighbourhood. An open door policy encourages a wandering youth to return at any time.

The Position and Scheduling:

The permanent full-time Residence Workers (RW) are part of a dynamic care-giver team and are responsible for assisting our person served (PS) to live successfully in residential settings in an accredited agency. Ensure physical, emotional, social, educational and medical needs are met. The Residence Workers assist the PS to enhance quality of life with activities of daily living and the development of life skills. They provide behavioural support and supervision in the program and community, implement and monitor individual program plans through observation and accurate reporting, and participate in operating and maintain the program. These positions require union membership with BCGEU.
