Chuzghun Resources Corporation (CRC) is a non-profit jointly owned by Tl’azt’en First Nations and the University of Northern BC (UNBC) to promote natural resource education and research in Northern BC through programs associated with the John Prince Research Forest (JPRF).  CRC is interested in hiring a talented Social Media Intern professional to join our team.

 

The scope of the work will be to promote awareness of the JPRF and its associated partners, including Chuntoh Education Society, a charity for promoting cultural-based science programs for children and Tanizul Timber Ltd, an indigenous forest company which manages Tl’azt’en Nation’s forest tenures.

Responsibilities for Social Media Intern

  • Develop publicity plans for partner organizations to raise awareness of programs and activities,
  • Develop, implement and manage social and print media strategies in ways both informative and appealing,
  • Maintain and enhance partners’ respective websites,
  • Develop and implement plans to increase followers on popular social media platforms
  • Create and edit photo, video and audio media,
  • Promote and organize speaking engagements for staff, 

Qualifications for Social Media Intern

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, journalism, public relations, natural resource management or related fields,
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills,
  • Experience in developing unique marketing campaigns for diverse audiences,
  • Experience with social media management or development for an organization
  • Familiarity with web design and publishing,
  • Ability to work alongside a diverse groups of individuals and organizations,
  • Photographic and video skills,
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills,
  • Good time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to productively work independently,
  • Great interpersonal and social skills,
  • Professional appearance and demeanor,
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence,
  • Must be between 15-30 years of age.
