About the SUCCESS Multi-Level Care Society

 

To care for the seniors like our own by providing a continuum of excellent, culturally appropriate services for them. In 1995, the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Multi-Level Care Society was incorporated with the purpose of establishing linguistically and culturally appropriate care for those seniors in our community. It has now developed into a provider of quality residential care and health services.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Under the direction of the HR & Administrative Manager, the Screener is responsible for carrying out the Family Visitation schedule by establishing effective communication with families, maintaining and sanitizes the visitation station(s), ensure all family visitations are complying with the care home and Vancouver Coastal Health safety guidelines The position is temporary up to the end of March 2021 and subject to the availability of funding for further extension.

 

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates a welcoming presence for resident & families and using a customer service approach and communicates professionally, courteously and effectively with individuals presenting at the care home visitation station.
  • Communicates with Nurses and / Resident Care Attendants to confirm the visitation schedule of the residents
  • Communicates with families to confirm the visitation schedule of the families
  • According to the visitation schedule, prepares and porters the residents from resident unit to visitation station and vice versa
  • Provides education / briefing to the residents and families for the safety precautions of the visitation.
  • Follows current direction and criteria for usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and providing PPE to all families.
  • Ensures that residents and families are following safe physical distancing measures in accordance with established visitation guidelines
  • Maintains the family visitation schedule and visitation record.
  • Reports safety and security incidents to Screening & Visitation Coordinator/Designated and other site personnel as required and in accordance with established protocols. Documents relevant information on an Incident Report form.
  • Restocks the Family Visitation station with PPE supplies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Grade 12 education and two-year work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Ability to deal with conflicts
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to organize work
  • Ability to operate related equipment
