About the Opportunity

North Coast Community Services Society currently has an exciting opportunity for a people-oriented and enthusiastic Executive Director to join our team in Prince Rupert, BC on a full-time basis. 

This exciting and fast-paced role will see you reporting to our Board of Directors as you lead our organization forward so that we can continue to succesfully support the communities we serve. 

While no two days will ever be alike in this pivotal role, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with our union and collaboratively dealing with any grievances that may arise.
  • Carrying out HR responsibilities for employees within the organization while also tracking Sick Leave, Payroll, and Time Off. 
  • Seeking out additional funding and fundraisers to support the continued development of our organization and the development of our Child Development Centre.
  • Carrying out relevant reporting on organizational activities on a monthly basis. 
  • Meeting with officials from the local government to maintain a strong relationship with the city. 
  • Facilitating and managing committees within the organization so that they are operating as efficiently as is possible and are also documented. 
  • Reporting to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis. 

This role will also see you working with a range of funding and government organizations including Northern Health, the Ministry of Children and Family Development, the Ministry of Justice, and local Health Authorities. 

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need a relevant Master's Degree along with experience working with vulnerable families and mandated clients as well as an understanding of and experience working with indigenous communities. 

As our ideal candidate, you'll be a highly motivated and empathetic individual that is capable of thinking outside of the box in order to promote growth and continuous improvement. Your strong communication skills and aptitude for stakeholder management will combine with your detail-oriented nature allowing you to succeed while you work towards many competing demands and deadlines. As a leader within our organization, you'll lead by example with a passion for the work that you do, a desire to continuously learn and grow, and the ability to build quality relationships with the community, your colleagues, your direct reports, and the greater team.
