Position Type:              Seasonal Full-time, 5 days/week (Tuesday to Saturday), 35 hours per week for 8 weeks

Contract Duration:        8 weeks

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Retail Operations Customer Service Intern works in a retail/social enterprise setting that contributes to the generation of revenue in support of various CCS programs and activities. They will assist in the safe and efficient operation of the stores and in creating a customer friendly environmentUnder the leadership of the Manager, Retail Operations (or designate) the incumbent:

  • Serves customers in a friendly and helpful manner, including conducting cash transactions;
  • Assists in receiving, sorting and safely clearing donated articles as required;
  • Prices and places items appropriately on sales floor;
  • Assists in the orientation of youth and volunteer workers, ensuring they have the required information and knowledge to perform their roles safely and effectively;
  • Maintains overall store and personal workspace / equipment cleanliness and sanitizing along with co-workers while using provided PPE;
  • Assists with set up and promotion of special events and sales;
  • Participates in photo shoots for social media;
  • Other duties as assigned to assist the program.


Summary of Qualifications:

  • Secondary or post-secondary level of study in a related field an asset;
  • Ability to conduct some heavy lifting of boxes or irregular shaped donations;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database skills, e-mail and internet;
  • Interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Police records check will be required.
