Responsibilities

 

 

Reporting to the Director of the department and in collaboration with team members, Philanthropic Development Technician performs a variety of administrative tasks as well as certain tasks directly related to fundraising development and various other facets of the work of the team.

  1. Support the immediate superior, Philanthropic Development Officers and work team staff in the performance of their administrative duties;
  2. Perform various tasks related to the preparation, writing, editing, dissemination, updating and production of documents;
  3. Translate short documents of various kinds (maximum 1 page) and coordinate outside translations to ensure the quality, accuracy and concordance of the texts;
  4. Ensure logistical planning and participate in certain events or team meetings (convening, greeting, agenda, note taking, minutes);
  5. Disseminate instructions, documents and arguments to the staff members who are called upon to transmit the information to members, donors and the general public;

 

Requirements

 

Academic background

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in office technology or the equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree (an asset)

 

Languages

  • Proficiency in spoken and written French and English
  • Ability to compose, edit and correct texts
  • Ability to translate short texts (maximum 1 page)

 

Software and computer programs

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to use database software

 

Experience

  • Three years of relevant experience

 

Specific knowledge

  • Experience and/or training in customer service.

Availability

  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Availability to travel occasionally in Canada

 

 

Working conditions

 

  • Salary and benefits according to collective agreement
