WJS Canada is currently looking for an individual to join our Community Living Home Share programs in the Fraser Valley region of BC, as a Full-Time Program Manager.

The Program:

WJS Canada serves both male and female adults with the Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or FASD, Developmental Disabilities (DD), Mental health, and mental health diagnosis in our Shared Living programs throughout British Columbia. Persons served live with the family or have their own suite at the host family’s home.

The Position:

The Program Manager, Community Living Home Share Programs, provides operational and administrative direction for the development, implementation and management of the program in this CARF-accredited agency. The PM implements and monitors policies and procedures related to day-to-day services to persons served and directs and coordinates the day-to-day management of program staff. S/He works directly with persons served and their families/care teams as required, and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating individual program plans. The Program Manager participates in agency decision making and is the primary liaison with the contracting body. The Community Living Home Share Program Manager may be required to carry a caseload of up to 10 persons served in shared living and/or contracted services. Responsibilities include coordinating, supporting and supervising the Quality Analysts in the Community Living Services program.

 

Scheduling:

One (1) permanent, full-time position with a weekly schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 0900-1700. Position includes the requirement to be “on call” during scheduled time off. Schedule varies to meet operational needs (including coverage of leaves) and front line work will be required.

This position requires frequent travel (extensive at times); requiring use of own vehicle.

 

As an ideal candidate you possess:

  • An acceptable combination of an undergraduate or master’s degree in a relevant field (applied behavioural analysis, psychology or social work, special education) combined with experience working with and training others in the areas of behavioural psychology, assessment techniques, treatment design and implementation.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience with behavioural challenges and interventions
  • Minimum of one year supervisory/management experience; preferably in a related social services environment

Other requirements:

  • Valid CPR/First Aid, WHMIS, and Food Hygiene and Sanitation certificates (or ability to obtain within probation period)
  • Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate (NVCI) and/or MANDT and Conflict Resolution Certificate (or ability to obtain within probation period)
  • Physician’s note confirming suitability, including immunization records and a negative tuberculosis screening test
  • Strong conflict resolution, mediation and crisis prevention and intervention techniques.
  • Prior experience with implementing Behavioural Interventions
  • Prior experience in Trauma Informed Practices
  • Knowledge of human resource management principles and practices; employee development and performance management skills, including ability to supervise and train staff, and organize, prioritize, and schedule work.
