Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for an ASL & LSQ Translation Services Coordinator role. Reporting to the Manager, Interpreting Services, the ASL & LSQ Translation Services Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and administering the content development of ASL and LSQ material. This will also involve marketing and promoting ASL/LSQ content development services including collaborating with external businesses to produce and deliver ASL and LSQ content that meet their specific requirements.   

 

The ideal candidate will have Bachelor’s degree in ASL Studies or equivalency (e.g. post-secondary education in related fields such as Deaf Interpreting, Adult Education, or ASL Instruction, etc.), combined with 2-3 years’ related work experience as a Deaf Interpreter and in sign language content development and message equivalency (e.g. English and ASL). You will be fluent in ASL (LSQ and French are an asset) and will also have proven marketing skills

 

If you are self-motivated, possess excellent communication and facilitation skills, and have extensive understanding of Deaf culture, this may be just the role for you.
