About the Position:

The Program Coordinator provides operational support in delivering the program services. This position also assists the Program Manager in producing performance outcomes and delivering quality service aligned with the program objectives and expectations.

 

Reports to: Youth Program Manager

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance with staff recruitment
  • Coordinates and implements the program as specified in the contract to ensure quality services and outcomes are achieved
  • Assists the Program Manager in overseeing service delivery and program implementation
  • Formulates strategies for  achieving  measurable  objectives  and  outcomes
  • Develops and monitors actions plans aimed at achieving cost effective results
  • Supports close  cooperation among  staff  to  achieve  a  consistently high level of service delivery
  • Provides employment support and job coaching to clients if needed
  • Reviews files  to  ensure  service  standards  are  met  and  in accordance with quality standards
  • Maintains proper documentation and records of the program
  • Prepares quality reports and surveys
  • Collects data  and  prepares  reports  on monthly  basis and when  required
  • Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with stakeholders
  • Assists in  formulating  strategies  on  marketing  and  promoting  the   program to stakeholders and clients
  • Coordinates and participates in program events to connect clients and employers/mentors
  • Communicates with and outreach to service providers, regulatory bodies and professional associations for marketing and client referrals
  • Connects with employers to provide work experience for youth clients

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree in career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human resources, counselling, or education
  • Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) or equivalent designation or demonstrate a plan to pursue similar designation
  • Experience in coordinating and implementing programs to ensure quality service delivery
  • Experience in building partnerships with employers and community agencies
  • Experience in connecting with employers to provide job experience for clients
  • Experience and knowledge in career counselling
  • Experience in working with individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds
  • Knowledge of labour market trends and information

Other Requirements:

  • Clear criminal record check 
  • Work on weekends and evenings may be required
