About the Position:

The Group Facilitator is responsible to deliver Changeways group program to residents in Richmond, two times per year. In addition to facilitating the sessions, this position will promote the program, recruit participants and complete group reports, The Group Facilitator will also liaison with physicians, psychologists and other voluntary agencies to provide integrative support to participants. 

 

Reports to: Program Manager

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and recruits group participants through different mediums and referrals
  • Conducts assessment, registration and referrals to participants
  • Delivers and facilitates Changeways Program in group format
  • Liaises with community agencies, physicians and other institutions in providing best possible services to participants
  • Receives case referrals from community agencies, physicians and other institutions
  • Maintains and updates client records in accordance with the Division’s set standard
  • Ensures all services meet the accreditation standards
  • Works closely with staff members of other S.U.C.C.E.S.S. divisions/offices in providing joint support to participants
  • Responsible for report writing and required administrative work
  • Maintains statistical records for accountability, funding application/report and program development purposes

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychology
  • Registered Clinical Counsellor membership
  • At least three (3) years of counselling work experience is preferable
  • Completed Changeways Core Program Training
  • Experience in facilitating groups
  • Experience in conflict resolution and case management
  • Knowledge of community resources and referral process

Job Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in Chinese (preferably both Cantonese and Mandarin)
  • Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent program planning, time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent group facilitation skills
  • Excellent multitasking skills and flexible
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and basic internet skills

Other Requirements:

  • Clear criminal record check
  • Flexible to work on weekends and evenings due to work schedules
