Reporting to the Director, Information Systems & Web Services, the Web Coordinator is a member of the web team and is responsible for coordinating, developing and maintaining CCSA’s web presence across a variety of online platforms and technology stack, as well as advising on web strategies and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate creation, upload and maintenance of content on the CCSA website
- Coordinate ongoing website and content reviews and updates with various divisions
- Oversee and coordinate the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of website enhancements and new features
- Conduct reviews and identify opportunities to improve usability, SEO, accessibility and website performance
- Provide quality assurance and brand consistency for CCSA’s online presence and products
- Ensure CCSA’s web presence is compliant with relevant legislation, such as OLA, AODA, PIPEDA, and website privacy and terms of use
- Develop and maintain information architecture and web presence across CCSA assets, including microsites, social media, web applications and mobile
- Ensure that CCSA’s corporate online presence reflects best practices in information architecture, SEO, user experience and overall usability
- Provide analysis that includes exploration, feasibility and recommendations for web-based solutions based on requirements and best practices
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices through conducting industry scans for trends, tracking emerging technology and participating in forums and user groups
- Create, update and maintain web documentation, guidelines and processes as they relate to the general website operation and website domain management
- Provide guidance and support to various divisions on web-based initiatives, general questions, training and project inquiries applying sound judgment
- Contribute to briefing materials for senior leadership to inform decisions about CCSA’s web products and presence
- Consult with internal stakeholders to identify needs and capacity that may impact web-based products
- Coordinate contracts of external vendors and assist with budget management for web services and support
- Create and execute project work plans for web-based products
- Back-up support to other web team roles as required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science, web development, information systems, information technology or related discipline
- Minimum five years’ experience in website development using technologies, such as JavaScript, PHP, .Net, HTML and CSS
- Experience working with current corporate web technologies and content management systems, such as Drupal and WordPress, and online learning systems
- In-depth knowledge and experience in cross-browser stack, front-end development, applications, web frameworks and services
- Working knowledge of legislation impacting web-based resources (i.e., PIPEDA, AODA, Antispam, GDPR, OLA, etc)
- Knowledge and experience in web design standards, APIs, UX and usability best practices
- Knowledge and application of agile project management frameworks and tools, such as Asana, Trello, etc.
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
- Experience leading projects and providing guidance to project teams
- Experience with vendor management for software and hosting providers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience in proactively identifying new technologies
- Ability to establish priorities and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment while exercising flexibility to respond to emerging priorities and to apply sound judgement
