This is a contractor position, not a Sources staff position.
Position: Food Hub Manager
Location: Remote and/or office location TBD
Hours: 35 hours per week until July 31, 2021 with opportunity for extension
Working closely with Seeds of Change Surrey (SOCS), the City of Surrey’s Sustainability Planner, Fraser Health, and Sources; this role provides immediate oversight of development and operations for the SOCS Food Hub in its support of the food security needs of Surrey’s diverse community, made vulnerable by the COVID-19 pandemic. As the lead on operations and program management of the overall centralized and “City wide hub and spoke model, this position’s responsibilities include managing operations, coordinating logistics, supervising staff, and ensuring that OH&S measures are developed and implemented. Recent funds secured through United Way of the Lower Mainland (UWLM) and the Government of Canada will be continuing the operations of a shared food hub.
Join Seeds of Change collective impact initiative in Surrey and White Rock. Seeds of Change is a collective impact initiative working together to increase food security in Surrey/White Rock. Working closely with Seeds of Change Surrey (SOCS) in the community, the City of Surrey’s Sustainability Planner, Fraser Health, Sources, and Seeds of Change partner organizations, SOCS Coordinator and Food Justice Advocate role provides two key functions to further the collective impact strategies of Seeds of Change: This individual must be social justice oriented, technologically savvy and have excellent interpersonal skills (additional languages are an asset).
