Become a Live In Shared Living Provider
(** Vancouver only**)
Are you looking for an exciting and meaningful opportunity to impact someone’s quality of life? posAbilties, a large Not- for- Profit Community Living agency is seeking interested and skilled parties to share their life with persons with a developmental disability as a Live In Caregiver.
Shared Living Providers are responsible for the safety, support, supervision and general well-being of the person and they must be dedicated to enhancing the life of the person in their care and providing whatever support is necessary to help them realize their dreams.
Shared Living Providers are also expected to develop and nurture positive relationships between themselves and the people who are important to the person they support – including friends, family and peers. They should be person centered in their thinking and practices. This means putting the person first, doing with the person as opposed to doing for the person, and realizing what is important to the person rather than for the person.
To participate in posAbilities Shared Living Services, interested parties complete an application package and engage in an extensive home study process. We also perform reference checks and request various documents including a criminal record check for the vulnerable sector.
Approval does not in any way guarantee that you will be selected to provide Shared Living services with posAbilties, there are many factors that are considered when making a match.
