Food & Beverage Manitoba, a not-for-profit, industry-led association dedicated to promoting Manitoba’s vibrant food and beverage processing industry, is seeking a visionary Executive Director to lead their organization. 

Food & Beverage Manitoba is committed to providing relevant support to its members, ensuring they have the resources, strength, and conditions they need to succeed.  Food & Beverage Manitoba provides the expertise and support their members need most; developing new markets, training a skilled workforce, building human resource capacity, creating opportunities for networking and collaboration, and sharing critical information about domestic and international trade industry regulations and government programs.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be a strategic thinker responsible for developing an operational plan that incorporates the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a natural relationship builder and connector who will raise the profile of Manitoba Food & Beverage’s processors and manufacturers while forming new alliances and relationships with industry partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the contact and representative of Food & Beverage Manitoba for the media, sponsors, members, and other stakeholders
  • Advise the Board on governance including program and policy development
  • Ensure the programs and activities offered by Food & Beverage Manitoba contribute to the vision and mission of the organization
  • Work with the Board of Directors to prepare the annual budget
  • Prepare and present to the Board, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on budget, revenues, expenses, and the financial position of the organization

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the Agri-food industry (food and beverage value added processing & manufacturing) is a definite asset
  • 5+ years of senior management experience with track record of effective leadership
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Education, Agricultural, or related discipline
  • Ability to build relationships with various stakeholders - industry, facilitators, government, consultants, and diverse populations
  • Demonstrated financial acumen
  • Demonstrated success in operationalizing the mission, vision, and values of an organization to captivate, engage, and motivate to action, employees, stakeholders, and clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing, proposal development, and presentation and facilitation abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex
