Accounting Technician – Maternity Leave position

THE OPPORTUNITY!

Kids Kottage Foundation is recruiting for an Accounting Technician, maternity leave term. Reporting to the Executive Director and working in collaboration with the Fund Development Manager and Accountant, the Accounting Technician manages the accounting and finance requirements of the organization to support Kids Kottage Foundation mission, values, organizational priorities and strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting Responsibilities:

• Full cycle accounting
• Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans
• Prepares budgets for grant submission and grant reporting
• Monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual financial reporting to Executive Director
• Advises Fund Development Manager of all financial contributions, financial fund development contributions and works with Fund Development Manager to establish financial fund development targets
• Review and analyze fundraising events and reports to Fund Development Manager and Executive Director
• Works collaboratively with Financial Audit Firm

Payroll Duties:

• Bi-weekly payroll processing
• Review Kids Kottage Foundation employee expenses and make reimbursements
• Administer group benefit plan
• Other payroll duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of a related post-secondary degree;
• Five to ten years’ experience in full cycle accounting;
• Experience with Sage, QuickBooks, and accounting software;
• Proficient with Excel, and other Microsoft office applications;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of non-profit accounting standards and processes

• Must provide and maintains current clear CYIM and Police Criminal Record checks
